My Favorite Bible Verse

“For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”” (Romans 10:13). This Bible verse is taken from one of my most favorite chapters in the Bible’s New Testament. This comes from the book of Romans, chapter ten wherein righteousness and salvation is talked about. The chapter tells me that anyone who believes in the resurrection of Jesus Christ must surely be saved too. However, along this faith must be a heart of virtue or morality and a mouth which preaches his/her own faith on the story of the Son of God. This only means that faith is not just about what we believe in but also doing what we believe in. In this case, I believe that we have to walk our faith and preach it to every individual to whom we come in contact with. This is too idealistic but we have to try. Anyways, it is not just only preaching as in telling people to have faith and they will be saved but also preaching as in acting it out. In this case, they would have faith in your faith and in God’s words and would follow what you are doing in the end.

Romans 10:13 is my most favorite Bible verse. It is because the verse is so simple yet it is so profound.  Yes, it contains the simplest words for us to understand. However, we cannot say that it is that comprehensible to us at all. This is due to the fact that this verse calls for an action, a leap of faith. We realize in this verse that whoever, may the person be rich or poor, old or young, single, married, divorced, or widowed, can be saved. However, this salvation can only be given to those who call out on the name of the Lord. The Lord can only help those who ask for His help. He can only grant salvation to those who believe in it. While another fact that made me like this verse the most is the fact that everyone can be saved as long as all of us know how to call out to the Lord. In other words, this gives me hope.
